A means of ducting and venting the heat from the heat exchanger of a refrigerator to the outside so that the heat doesn't need to be removed a second time by the home air conditioning system, thus saving energy. The vent would be ducted out of the home by the duct systems currently in use for venting cloths dryers. A 'winter' diverter would also be installed to retain the heat in the home during the ...

Until now, tooth brush and tooth paste have been seen as separate items. Also, using traditional tooth brushes, it proved difficult to apply the tooth paste or fluoride rinse solution directly into the deepest crevices & spaces of the teeth.

The proposed innovation combines tooth brush and tooth paste into one unit that is capable of better accomplishing the task of cleaning the teeth. This system is also much better for travelling, since only one item has to be packed instead of two or more.

To use the device, the preferred brand of tooth paste or fluoride rinse solution ...

In seated surface design for extended rest, emphasis on development of concepts like ergonomics and comfort has been increased but usually in a shallow way.

However it is not taken into account factors that could interrupt a sleep cycle (7-8 hours), and especially in people who are sensitive or suffer from insomnia, who are even more susceptible to environmental factors.

All the holding structure is useful side to side for the storage of user stuff as clothes, shoes, etc.

A remote control panel is provided in order to configure height of the cover surface, temperature, ambient sounds and cover ...

The goal of this device is to simulate textures by using electrical current to induce vibrations.

The most commonly used touchscreen technology is the capacitive touchscreen. The capacitive touchscreen works by use of a thin layer of a transparent conductive material (with a small current running through it) laid over an insulator such as glass. When an electrical conductor such as a finger touches the conductive material, it causes a distortion in the field produced by the current, and by several methods the device can locate where the distortion took place and therefor where the finger is touching on ...

It's probably safe to say that almost everyone who's ever bought a bottle of wine and failed to finish it upon opening has experienced its rapid degradation while trying to save it for another day.

The Pungo is a preservation and dispensing device that keeps wine from becoming tainted due to exposure to oxygen. The incredible longevity achieved in maintaining the freshness of partially consumed bottles when utilizing the Pungo has never before been achieved in the history of wine consumption.

The Pungo is unique in regards to all other preservation systems, in that the cork is never removed from the ...

The context of use of my design is self balanced servicing tray. The problem that my design solves is the spilling or dropping the plates, cups or any other dishes served. My design provides a safe, spill proof, accident proof servicing experience. It is not just a servicing tray but it is an aesthetic, post-modern looking servicing element for casual or elegant use.

The innovation in my design is the its unique property of self balanced which uses the Earth's gravitational force. This design addresses directly the opportunity described above. I brought a new mechanism to servicing tray and ...

Erratic volume is a basic annoyance of television viewing. From commercials increasing in volume to loud scenes in movies, there are times when you need to dive for the volume control. There are several strategies of automatically reducing volume for sudden increases, however, I think most people would rather be able to control it themselves - if they could easily get back to the previously determined comfortable volume.

I propose adding buttons and a set of remote control codes to remotes to allow the current volume to be noted and halved and restored at the push of a button. The ...

ABSTRACT
This proposal concerns a chair pad, which monitors the body posture of the sitting user and alarms the user upon detection of incorrect body position or after prolonged sitting. The said chair pad is equipped with pressure sensors in order to measure the forces on back-pad and seat-pad. These sensors communicate with a computer in which, based on the collected data, the status of the user will be determined. This status will be further used to alarm the user about any incorrect sitting position. This pad has an adhesive surface, by which the pad adheres to the seat ...

New dishwasher uses enzymes and bacteria to save water and energy while reducing environmental impact.

• Uses 10% of the water, 15% of the energy of a "green" dishwasher!
• Uses NO soap or other environmentally harmful substances!

During a time when energy and water shortages plague mankind, why are modern dishwashers so wasteful? Even the most modern, "green" dishwasher will use between 12 and 16 liters (3-4.25 gallons) of water per usage, and 1-2 KWh of energy. Or, the alternative is washing dishes by hand which uses much more water, more energy (From heating that water), and much ...

One of the most common problem bikers face, especially mountain bikers, is when one/both tires become deflated. This kind of problem is faced by avid/seasonal bikers. The Pump Integrated Mountain Bike (PIMB) addresses this type of issue. PIMB, from its name, is a normal mountain bike that has a built-in pump.

The bike consists of two pumps.

The first one which is in the front powered by the front shock, as illustrated in Figure 1 and 3.

The second one which is located beneath the saddle at the back of the bike powered by the rear shock, as illustrated ...

Innovation: The lighted magical geometric display by wireless (electrostatics) is very unique idea where old technologies come together to make a great product. The whole idea consists in having hallow glass symbols or geometric shapes or drinking or serving glassware (bottoms only) filled with inert gases or fluorescent pigments.

These geometric figures could be free or permanent mounted to glass bases (home, work use), trays (portable units) or tables (industry shows, entertainment or restaurant locations) also filled completely or partial with inert gases for a complete magical show. When the inert gases inside the geometrical shapes or trays or ...

The swimming pool is an American icon for summer fun. Leaving the house and the pool unattended can sometimes lead to unpleasant surprises. I have had a few myself, which led me to develop the swimming pool pump controller. Based on my own experiences, I decided the controller needed to have the following features:

1. Turn off the pump when very low filter pressure sensed.

2. Turn off the pump when very high filter pressure sensed.

3. Turn off the pump when rated motor temperature exceded.

4. Turn off the pump when a water leak is sensed at filter.

According to the US Department of Energy, the most significant end use of electricity is central air-conditioning and refrigerators. This idea is to increase efficiency of central air conditioning in homes and offices.

The benefits are cost savings to the end user by reducing the amount of time the air conditioning units are working. Reducing consumption of electricity benefits everybody by freeing resources and reducing pollution from generating electricity.

Today homeowners and office administrators can close vents on rooms and offices that are not used. This is not done because it usually requires a person climbing a ...

Proper dental care is very important to an individual's overall health and general well-being. Additionally, proper brushing can significantly reduce the expense and discomfort of dental restorations, cleanings, and examinations - which is why there are now many mechanical aids available for cleaning teeth. In general these are variations on the classic toothbrush with the addition of reciprocating or vibrating bristles, which aid in the removal of food particles and bacterial plaque which are lodged between or adhered to the teeth. These devices universally come with removable and interchangeable heads to allow the user to replace worn bristles and ...

Handy Screw Caps for Soda Bottles

Jun 30, 2011

Problem:
Soda drinks in plastic bottles sometimes go flat in no time, due to the loss of carbonation, caused by carbon dioxide leaking through the screw caps. The reason therefor is that those caps are not tight enough screwed on, because the knurled cap doesn't allow a solid grip, mostly slipping through the fingers, especially when wet, and in some cases actually leaving scratch marks on the hand.

Solution:
A better grip by using an ergonomic shaped screw cap, allowing a very tight closure of any plastic bottle.

Advantages:
Handy screw caps are light, inexpensive and offer a solid ...

The idea is to use SMA (shape memory alloy) materials for manufacturing cans and in particular to revolutionize and improve the system of opening and make it intelligent, easier, safest and less dangerous, automatic and recyclable respecting the environment. (The idea came to me because many times I open cans of tuna invariably I have the easy open tabs left in my hand without opening it.)

Nitinol or other SMA materials have already been useful in industrial or commercial applications such as sealing high-pressure fuel passages, etc. The martensite temperature of shape memory alloys is dependent on a number ...

Texting and reading a web-page are not comfortable paradigms for accessing information, especially when mobile. The Verbal Internet changes this radically. Using the heavy compute power that will become available via the ‘cloud,’ a smart phone can couple a speaker to voice recognition software, interpret queries or actions, and respond verbally. The technology is mostly available, though integration is not.

Now, this is not just reading a page of Google results out loud. The pain level would be way too high! The Verbal Internet (VI) requires that both queries and response be concise and useful, and that navigation through ...

In recent times, cars are manufactured with an inbuilt computer which keeps a check on the working of the car with the help of sensors. Our idea is to club the cell phone of the driver and the car’s computer. This increases the overall safety of the car and the driver in addition to providing several amazing features.

The car application in the phone is first activated and connected to the car’s computer. The phone communicates continuously with the computer. The car’s computer and the phone continuously tallies the information with certain predetermined values that are already fed ...

Replacing the traditional display with a heads up display.
The video phone has an interface that is displayed as a heads up display. By holding AVA in front of you, the user interface is projected on the retina. At the same time the camera
transfers the video image to the receiver. The user interface is navigated with the buttons on top of the device. This makes the communication experience richer, more private and more fun for both parties.

Display
There is no traditional display, rather it has a small projector, forming an image on the user's retina (like a heads ...
