Spine External Fixator
Correction of Pediatric and Adult spine deformity is a difficult problem facing physicians worldwide. Currently devices on the market necessitate large expansile incisions and extensive blood loss, creating a high morbidity rate as well as a significant complication rate. This device allows for gradual correction of the most difficult deformity with minimal incision with no blood loss whatsoever. The patient is free to ambulate and participate in activities of daily living to tolerance while wearing this external spine scaffold ( all with minimal discomfort ).
The device can be used for spine trauma for our deployed soldiers. The device is applied in a field hospital under robotic guidance with no delay in treatment during the long transportation necessary to arrive at a trauma medical center.
