Automatic fall detection using the accelerometer and pulse detector is the novel method of detection of a fall. I would like to dedicate this project for the elderly people who we find to be unattended most of the times. It is estimated that about 1.5-2 million people in India die due to a trauma cause due to a fall. My target initially is to detect a fall and alert the relatives. Later on the ideas of prevention of a fall can also be integrated into my project.

In this project, we make use of an accelerometer and a ...

Conventional
high speed dental handpieces are difficult to clean. In the process of drilling noise or vibration is produced. Another problem is bacteria enters the head of the handpiece so diseases (like viral hepatitis or AIDS) may be transmitted to other dental patients. The above described
problems are solved and a technical advance is achieved by the present
disposable dental hand piece. A disposable dental handpiece, including a first handle portion; a second handle portion; a vibration dampening portion, the vibration dampening portion

There are approximately 1.8 million manual wheelchair users in the United States and the population is expected to grow at a rate of 10% annually. Seventy five percent of wheelchair users rely on manual wheelchairs. Prolonged manual wheelchair use is directly linked to repetitive stress injuries and pain in the upper extremity. The effects of muscle overuse becoming evident in the forms of muscle pain, torn rotor cuffs, joint degeneration, and carpal tunnel syndrome. There is a need to minimize these types of injuries while retaining the benefits of the exercise that these devices provide. Studies have found continued ...

The design I came up with was based on watching a RowHouse project take so long to build and have a high retail price.
With endless delays and bad weather, I was walking by the project and then I had the "Flash of Genius" moment as it hit me that Building Homes hasn't changed since my High School days 40 years ago.The Patent ability is a bit vague because it is not a new item but a way to assemble it,so I think the Social benefit is worth me displaying at this point. The images show a basic home floor ...

Since my Web page in dormant I added more pictorals and linked this to the 2008 entry. My serious 3 year disability from stress gave me the insight to many future social issues for the aging population demands and fixed-income disabled needing lower utility bills or even jobs. The Modular concept and fewer parts with safer assembly by light weight parts and less sharpe metal edges means less back strains and fatigue. The Modular power/cooling unit adapts to any Nations system and can be shipped as a incomplete-unit for unique Applications. I made a Base-Model with few alteration for 3 ...

After my Design for a Accessible Kitchen Fridge I needed a Wheelchair-Friendly Kitchen to market it in for a consumer-base via the Aging Population. The Blue surfaces are the normal Counter heights while the Dual-Access Pass-thru Appliance is in Green with doors open. By moving the Fridge to Stand-alone it frees-up floor space as the Counter tops can now be shortened to 24.0" or less.Double or triple sinks with multiple Grills and Island Ovens built for 24.0" counters give the same volumes but spead out or no longer in a square design. For every 6.0" I shave off the counter ...

In the world of EMI-EMC there is an essential need to measure conducted as well as radiated RF power. Additionally, measurement of RF power is required for design, development and maintenance of various systems of communications; radar etc. An exhaustive literature survey is carried out on various methods of RF power measurement. Based on the analysis of the literature survey, an optimized way of RF measurement is conceived and converted into a realizable measuring system. In the new approach, demerits of the traditional methods are minimized. The proposed RF power meter consists of a matched input section, a central ...

The Problem:

About 2 million people around the world die each year of diseases preventable by widely used vaccines. In Africa and parts of Asia over half of all vaccines that require refrigeration spoil before they can be administered. Millions of lives and billions of dollars are lost due to a lack of refrigeration.

Solution:

For vaccines to be safely administered in rural parts of Africa and Asia one needs a novel inexpensive, easy to maintain refrigerator that provides World Health Organization and UNICEF compliant “chain-of-cold” storage of vaccines. It should run on free non-polluting solar energy and it should be built ...

The US and world economy is impeded by the slowness of traffic during rush hours. Reducing the traffic jam problem, on the existing roads infrastructure can have a dramatic improvement on many aspects of our lives. This design idea can do just that using smarter Brake Lights or by mounting a small simple device at back and front of vehicles not more expensive than a TV remote control.

The more devices like that on the road the better the traffic will shape, even without requiring all vehicles to have the device installed at once.

If you observe traffic patterns ...

While the main secrets for the design are not shown, the concept for saving energy and using less plastic Globally was developed by me from my experience in factories for bottling and the strict recycling program to cuts costs in each Plant. The current Plastic 500ml or 710ml bottle would get rid of the wrap-around label that uses energy to make and more energy to recycle or just go to a land-fill.The Universal bottle would be a combination of the old Glass style with raised Script for a tactile surface, plus I'd like a Global Braille dot item for anyone to read ...

After talking to people that worked on Loading Docks I was aware of the 30-40 minute time period to unload a Trailer if all goes well. So I took my experience from view Cargo Planes in the Military and came up with a new version that reduces the unloading time to about 3 minutes. I have the same design for a Rail Car because some factories use both systems. The Truck shows Cargo with the side Door-system fully opened, yellow lines are where the side panel was,the rear view to the right has the Folding-Door in Green and starting to ...

Awhile back I read several reports on child injuries in the home as I designed my ECO-Fridge to make the Kitchen safer, but I also found a alarming problem for Kids being buned and scalded in the home. The bathroom had a near 95% rate for scalds from hot water use,the Kitchen was the balance. Australia had a extensive report for scalds and I was shocked into doing something to stop it.
The basic pictures show the Home shower area and Bathtub faucet style used today along with my edits to show the Green/Amber/Red method to deliver water.First off,it ...

The project consists of a solar adsorption ice maker for vaccines storage in remote areas of Third World countries. The use of these machines does not need any human presence and electricity. The system is completely independent and meets the standards set by the World Health Organization. These standards were identified during the vaccination campaign against measles to reduce child deaths from 2001 to 2005.
Strategies for immunization should take into account the possibility of ensuring the vaccines preservation at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C until their final use in the territory.
At present common refrigeration ...

This invention addresses the $ 1 Billion USD annual storm water back up damage to finished basements and below grade construction that occurs during power outages when the AC pump cannot operate and DC battery back up pumps are unable to operate for long durations (usually 1-3 hours of pumping on battery power). Even during harsh storm conditions, however, municipal water supplies continue to flow through pipes separate from those that drain storm water . This invention makes use of the power available from a continuous 30-50psig water supply pressure to run a sump pump that can produce approximately ...

The left-ventricular stroke volume (or stroke volume, for short) is how much volume of blood the heart pumps with each heart beat. Stroke volume is important because it is a direct indicator of heart efficiency and health. Today, stroke volume can only be measured invasively using a Swan-Ganz catheter or via ultrasound echocardiography. Catheter is insertion risky and limited to special surgeries. Echocardiography is noninvasive but cumbersome, highly subjective and therefore unreliable. As a result, a noninvasive, convenient and reliable measurement of stroke volume is considered to be the “Holy Grail” of hemodynamic assessment. We have attained this goal ...

If we just use our senses we can feel the threat to our precious planet Earth. We all feel the increasing of the temperature, the abrupt climatic changes, the defrosting of the Arctic (North Pole) putting in danger the survival of so many species, especially the Polar Bear.
Also the extreme dryness of countries in the Middle East and Africa with desert landscapes is becoming present in Mediterranian Countries in the South of Europe. My all-season ATV track conversion kits convert the rear ATV tires to a tank-like tread system. The track system provides greater contact with the ground, increasing stability and reducing the chance of the ATV from flipping back onto the rider, which may result in serious injuries. The tracks allow the ATV to better maneuver on all surfaces where traditional tires would get stuck or slip (e.g. sand, snow, mud). In addition to the track system, a front end tire to snow ski conversion kit is added. The ski kits allow the ATV to be used during the winter months ...
