Child Safe Accessible Kitchen Design
After my Design for a Accessible Kitchen Fridge I needed a Wheelchair-Friendly Kitchen to market it in for a consumer-base via the Aging Population. The Blue surfaces are the normal Counter heights while the Dual-Access Pass-thru Appliance is in Green with doors open. By moving the Fridge to Stand-alone it frees-up floor space as the Counter tops can now be shortened to 24.0" or less.Double or triple sinks with multiple Grills and Island Ovens built for 24.0" counters give the same volumes but spead out or no longer in a square design. For every 6.0" I shave off the counter ...
Child-safe G.A.R. Faucet system
Awhile back I read several reports on child injuries in the home as I designed my ECO-Fridge to make the Kitchen safer, but I also found a alarming problem for Kids being buned and scalded in the home. The bathroom had a near 95% rate for scalds from hot water use,the Kitchen was the balance. Australia had a extensive report for scalds and I was shocked into doing something to stop it.
The basic pictures show the Home shower area and Bathtub faucet style used today along with my edits to show the Green/Amber/Red method to deliver water.First off,it ...
Continuous building/structure frame reinforcing
Combined Moment, Damping, & Post-Tensioning Structural Steel Strap-Nets Reinforcing Methods provide total structural body-frame force-resistance and stress-reductions with a single, easily assembled & installable reinforcing component.
Developed primarily for buildings, this recently innovated reinforcing method is applicable to all types of assembled rigid structural body-frames.
The unique Damping(shock-absorbing)feature absorbs, disperses, and dissipates dynamic forces and loads from the impacted frame, reducing harmful vibratory actions on the frame tributaries, and the two frame reinforcing features of Moment and Post-Tensioning prevents harmful movements, leanings, and twisting actions on the frame, for a continuous total-frame, uniform full-reinforcing, variable and repeating ...

Visual Detection/Counter-Measure of IED's
Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are used by terrorists worldwide. These crude but effective explosive devices are easy to assemble, inexpensive and produce devastating results. Foreign and domestic terrorists have effectively employed these devices to undertake stand-off attacks as opposed to use of conventional weapons. Such use results in heightened public relations benefit while enabling anonymity. Low cost and easy access to materials used to configure IEDs along with rapid communication/training via the internet enables ongoing use of stand-off weapon systems in absence of better C-IED capability and technologies.
The instant invention comprises conventional COTS along with improved visual ...

GUARDIAN
Concept Background
Motorcycle is a cheap and convenient mode of transport especially in developing nations like India where cities are very much crowded.
-About 38 % vehicles registered in Mumbai are motorcycles.
-Motorcycles have 16 times the rate of serious injuries per 100 million vehicle kilometers compared to cars (Dept of Transport, UK)
-96% of the single vehicle accidents resulted in some kind of injury to the motorcycle rider (‘Hurt’ Study)
-One of the Major categories under single vehicle accidents is ‘Bike slip’ scenario where without collision with any object, the rider falls and faces injuries
There ...
Spiral Wound Wedge Wire Detonation Flame Arrester
A Detonation Flame Arrestor (DFA) is designed to extinguish a flame front resulting from an explosion or detonation of a gas in a pipeline. However, in addition to extinguishing the flame, the DFA must be capable of dissipating (attenuate) the pressure front that precedes the flame front. The pressure front (shock wave) is associated with the propagation of the flame front through the unburnt gas toward the DFA. The flame induced pressure front is always in the same direction as the impinging flame travel. The pressure rise can range from a small fraction to more than 100 times the ...
Open Water Oil Containment Barricade
Problem:
Offshore oil rigs can rupture and cause serious, perhaps irreparable damage to coastal areas and the
commercial fishing industry. As indicated by recent events in the Gulf of Mexico, no method is
currently in place to prevent the spread of such contamination.
Current methods rely on burning surface oil off into the atmosphere, or using chemical dispersants to
bind with the oil and sink it. Both of these approaches have a serious negative environmental impact.
Solution:
The Open Water Oil Containment Barricade is a simple circular extrusion of polyethylene foam
encased in a sheet of tarpaulin material, with ...
LiveSensor: SIDS preventor and vitals sensor
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) claims the life of nearly one out of every 200 children born worldwide. As of today, no explanation has been offered for this phenomenon, and no solution has been found…yet.
System:
The SureChild: LiveSensor system comprises a monitoring system consisting of a thin, padded sensor belt, and a receiver unit. The sensor belt loops around the patient’s chest and is snugly secured in place with a piece of Velcro sewed to one end. The unit monitors the patient’s movement and respiration as they either move or expand their chest during respiration via an integral sensor embedded ...

Rakshak
Any adventure/extreme sport, trekking or geological survey teams meet with accidents. For a mountain rescue operation team it takes atleast 5 persons to transport an injured person down an ice capped mountain or from any other difficult to access rough terrain. The vehicles already available to maneuver these terrains are for limited slopes and higher costs. The vehicle that is proposed is a triangular one with 5 wheels that can be parked at any angle of inclination (up to 60o) without toppling. The C.G of the vehicle is contained with in the body of the vehicle because of the ...
Solar-Powered Coast Guard Boats
With your help, Massive Nibble© can win the money we need to build a solar-powered, water-cooled Zero Pollution Engine™ (ZPE©) for use in watercraft. Together, we can enhance the safety and security of American waters by enabling the Coast Guard to patrol on sunny days, without fuel expense and without creating any air, water or noise pollution. We can make it possible for lifeguards to patrol just beyond the breakers, poised to zoom in and rescue swimmers or surfers in trouble.
By outfitting boats with ZPE-powered water pumps, they can help fight fires on boats and ships, as well as ...
Intelligent Home Security System
Knock, knock, knock! As a homeowner, I get visits from home security companies. As a father and a husband, I want to do everything within my power to ensure the safety of my family. However, current commercially available home security systems are rather cost-ineffective and just very passive electronics. Service normally requires a multi-year contract with costly monthly payments, and even then may not provide any protection in the case of an intruder (more on this below). Utilizing inexpensive hardware and advances in pattern recognition software algorithms, I propose a family of intelligent home security systems as follows.
The ...
Automated Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Vehicle
• What problem does your design idea solve?
This design reduces the response time to an airplane accident by the airport’s ARFF vehicles. Reducing response time is the best way to improve the ability to quickly extinguish a postcrash fire.
• What are the potential benefits?
There are two big benefits from this design: first, reducing the ARFF response time should result in saving lives in the event of an air carrier accident on the airport. Secondly, automating this initial response maneuver would redirect rescue personnel needs for the airports and allow them to be repositioned ...
Wireless Networkable Flame Sensor
Currently available, state-of-the-art, Flame Detectors are too large, too heavy, too power hungry, too slow to respond, and completely unsuitable for many applications requiring: low weight and smaller size, operations on next-to-no power, an immediate and effective response of fire suppression equipment for both personnel safety and expensive/critical equipment protection, and safeguards in areas with access difficulties, no local power, or a need for less cabling.
With newer requirements of: system cabling reduction by integrated power using energy harvesting, or a battery (only if absolutely necessary) lasting at least 2 years; and, wireless networked communications for multiple sensors in ...
Capping a deep water oil well
Capping a damaged deep water well presents many challenges. The high pressure and remote environment makes it impossible for humans and difficult for robots to work in. When a deep water well is damaged, the environmental impact is significant and environmental damage rises exponentially as time progresses. The only way to minimize damage to the environment is to implement a well capping solution that is simple and easy to deploy in a timely manner.
The simplest solution is to cut off the damaged portion of the well riser and install a new riser section with a shutoff valve. Once ...
Long Range Fire Detection and Response
LONG RANGE FIRE DETECTION AND RESPONSE
WITH UNIQUE OPTICAL DETECTOR
Approximately five billion dollars in US revenue is lost annually due to open area fires. Millions of acres of forest, many buildings and other properties are destroyed. Tragically, many brave firefighters and countless wildlife are lost. Worldwide the numbers are staggering and add additional carbon loading in the atmosphere beyond all the fossil fuel burned. Early detection of open area fires is typically performed by manned observatories, random reporting, space and aerial surveillance. These methods, while valuable, lead to unnecessarily long reporting times, low coverage, and rapid spread ...
Three Tier Enhanced Security in Image Steganography
Steganography, derived from Greek, roughly translated as “cover writing.” It is a “hide and seek” system that embeds hidden information in unremarkable cover media so as not to arouse an eavesdropper’s suspicion except the intended recipient. Embedding a message into an image requires two files. The first is the innocent-looking image that will hold the hidden information, called the cover image. The second file is the message—the information to be hidden. The hiding system needs a host file, a prepared message file, and an optional key to insert the message into the host for creating a cover host. The ...
