Child Safe Accessible Kitchen Design
After my Design for a Accessible Kitchen Fridge I needed a Wheelchair-Friendly Kitchen to market it in for a consumer-base via the Aging Population. The Blue surfaces are the normal Counter heights while the Dual-Access Pass-thru Appliance is in Green with doors open. By moving the Fridge to Stand-alone it frees-up floor space as the Counter tops can now be shortened to 24.0" or less.Double or triple sinks with multiple Grills and Island Ovens built for 24.0" counters give the same volumes but spead out or no longer in a square design. For every 6.0" I shave off the counter depth it give you 1sq.Ft. of usable pedestrian area for every 2 feet of counter length. So a 12 Foot long counter nets 6 square feet to use towards a island. Overhead Hypersonic Sound System speakers isolate TV sound,LapTop cooking Video shows via Internet TV WiFi,or music beamed down at the Dinning area.VOIP/Video calls can also be routed to Kitchen HSS Speakers. Note the wide walking areas and small Work station, a shared counter and Open-Kitchen concept lest the Cook work alone as guests access a sunk and a Dinning room side of the Fridge for snacks. More Disabled parents will be favoured by the courts for child custody as the self-reliant parent also has a near Zero risk for child burns and scalds since I killed the Kitchen triangle in 2008 where the child is exposed to hot foods. Most children bug the parent near the stove just for food or snacks, often the Cook turns around to stumble upon the child with a hot liquid and injuries them. Keep Healthy snacks on the Kids Safe-Side of the Fridge now reduce the risks for burns.I've also Designed a new Plumbing style to save enegy and prevent Water Scalding to kids as the Hot-Faucet is at Adult height for the bathroom and Kitchen sinks while reachable from a Wheelchair. This Open-Kitchen design can be in Condo's for the ADA label. This is only a rough draft of the concept, the final actual drawing will be a virtual Home walk-thru, my Window design is Unique and it too sets new ADA standards like my fridge did.Sunlight,Vision, and privacy comes from several vertical 10.0"x7.0' opening with a spot for plants and flowers for botanists.Parents can see Kids in the backyard and the idea came to me from the Eskimo's using slits in goggles to avoid Snow-Blindness.The view outward is to infinity while the Neighbours see only about 5-7 feet of kitchen wall from a normal distance.
My web Site is down for now,but I've tested the design and it works, and exceeds ADA building codes. 'Disabled' should be a Word ,not a "Sentence." Prison is a sentence not a Word.
