Automation Distress Alert System (ADA)

The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) false alert is one of the most important problems to the international maritime organization (IMO). IMO, through the communication and search & rescue subcommittee, invites all members to recommend a system or proposal to solve this problem.

Our research team has invented a new system, the name of this system is ADA Automation Distress Alert system. We can say ADA is one of the best, new & most efficient systems for emergency reporting at sea.  By using this system, the lives of thousands of people in sea emergency situations will be saved. The system has been developed to provide mariners with a global communication and locating network. In the ADA system, fundamental changes are applied to the hardware and software systems to opportunity of GMDSS system. The research & inventor team investigated and evaluated the ADA system as a pack for 5 ships as a sample in the Shahid Rajaei port to determine & test main the factors of this system.

The ADA system consists of below hardware:

5- GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS)
6-DIRECTION FINDER -(406 Mhz, VHF/MF/HF DSC)
7-GYRO COMPASS
8-SPEED LOG
9-WIND SENSOR
10- SAR BEACON
11- INMARSAT MINI -C
12-DIGITAL SELECTIVE CODE( VHF/MF/HF)
13-CARGO SENSORS to detect five main distress alerts defined at sea
14- VESSEL SENSORS to detect five main distress alerts defined at sea
15- 121.5 MHz SENSORS

One of the advantages of the ADA system, using various sensors and employing advanced technologies reduces the role of personnel in sending distress signals and working with the systems. Another advantage of this system is improving the knowledge of ADA users by use of a simple system.

Otherwise, the ADA system has two function for test to increase accuracy: 1- internal test 2-external test.
