1. Structures

When a beam is designed and manufactured shop dwgs are developed from the original stamped construction dwgs. A structural member could be marked with a number or an RFID tag from the original CAD dwgs that was integrated with the applied RFID tag installed at the manufactures plant before shipment. Also the RFID tag would have the ability to store some CAD dwgs info with the ability to display the full dwgs even in 3D format by the RFID reader.
At the time of the shipment and installation to the site comes the RFID tag would make sure the correct location of the beam or construction element was put in correct place or was even delivered to correct location and was put to where it was required

2. Electrical

.At present we install electrical equipment as well as the conduits wires etc, either numbers as engraved tags on conduit runs and the electrical equip per specific building requirements, .If RFID tags are applied and numbered for conduits , wires and elect equip then a UHF receiving device with a 360 degree view or individual view, can scan, let’s say a room or construction area and instantly identify on CAD Dwgs where that tag is physically ;located and whether it matches with the original design Dwgs .This would allow for the updating of the design Dwgs on site in the field.

The idea would finally be that the CAD system layered dwgs would be easily broadcast as a RFID tag reds globally by floor or by building

The comparison of the designed dwgs and the installation of these components could be displayed and compared am d and them seen that what was installed was there
Thus an AS Built dwg design could easily be developed making for maint. and operations personnel to find and do their job much more safely and enhance reliability, availability and safety

6. Security

The ultimate would be for security
During a flood, hurricane. earthquake and terrorist situation the responders would get a clear picture if the broadcast of the RFID tags in their actual location after the incident could be broadcast and actually see what location all components of the building are actually located occurred to some degree of certainty then knowing what might need to be done to get too personnel stuck in the building structure, a tunnel, even an airplane; etc

7. Asset management and real time

I could see these tags as an active component to asset manage and real time information broadcast. Even maybe for seismic movements like strain gage wireless. There is a lot that can be eventually develops into for data storage and management of the asset information
