Ceiling Cooler Without Any Need For Energy

First, the system is installed in the predicted place on the ceiling fan. Then, the tank is filled with water. In this position, the inlet gate/valve leading to the straw compartment must be closed (the scale is set to zero) since water pressure would pressurize this gate/valve.

Note: to prevent sediment build up caused by water hardness and considering that little water is consumed in this system, it is better to use purified water.

Note: The tank is connected to the system via a sliding valve with four different settings which is operated through a lever for adjusting the inlet water flow rate.

Note: The amount of water added to the tank is about 1.8 liters (tank capacity=1.5 lit) and always greater than 1.5 liters. The corners of the rectangular tank are rounded so that excess water can be returned to the tank.

Upon entering the tank mouth, water flows through a two way tube. Each tube branch leads to another tube with 14 ways. These 14 ways are in the form of 14 gates above the straw compartment to moisturize the straw with water. The straw is covered with nano fiber nets to retain water.

Due to the aerodynamic structure formed into the body of the cooler (which is explained later via drawings), air at high speed (the speed depends on the fan speed) enters the cooler on one side and is cooled and moistened upon passing through the straw. After passing through the second straw layer, the moist air is further cooled. Then, as the air exits the cooler into the environment, sudden contact with the dry air outside the cooler would absorb about 20% of the air moisture, thus providing an air conditioning effect.

Another reason for reduction of moisture in the exit air is the critical wind pressure exerted via the motion of fan blades. This is an advantage of the proposed system as compared with conventional evaporative coolers since in conventional coolers, the wind pressure is the pressure exerted by the stagnant air in the room. Also, the body of the system is made of nano crystals (explained in the system description).
