A Digital Multi-Meter (DMM) is a test tool used to measure two or more electrical values principally voltage (volts), current (amps) and resistance (ohms). It is a standard diagnostic tool for technicians in the electrical/electronic industries. Digital multi-meters long ago replaced needle-based analog meters due to their ability to measure with greater accuracy, reliability and increased impedance. Though it is called Digital, it includes manual work like setting the knob to a specific parameter and to a specific range. This manual setting is tedious job at the field location. The goal of this project is to develop a model that leads to saving time, money and reducing the risks associated with remote field localities. This project mainly includes the ...

BACKGROUND:

Every year thousands of people lose body parts in accidents caused by different ways. Usually most of the other parts which are used to interact with computer are lost, but the eyes are still working, so why don't we use them? It doesn't mean if he or she doesn't have hands or he or she can't speak, and just because of this issue, he/she will go to bed and sleep the rest of their life. Why don't we find a way to allow their work to be carried out in the same way they used to do? For this purpose we figured that eyes are one of the biggest blessing we take for granted. We are trying to ...

Record-breaking amount of Sargassum is in the Caribbean resulting in the largest problem ever. The major problem it has brought are it piles up on beaches, sometimes many feet thick and begins to decay. The hydrogen sulphide that gets released smells like rotting eggs and many resorts had to close their doors. Since the species are Sargassum natans and Sargassum fluitans float they block sunlight creating a dead zone beneath them because plants under need sunlight to survive and the clean-up and removal of sargassum is an expensive task. This project proposes a new way to solve this problem. The best solution is a long term solution but the Caribbean economy depends upon tourism so it needs a quick ...

Innovative concepts in lightweight engineering for automotive and aerospace applications increasingly trust in Multi-Material-Design. Additionally metal-plastic-combinations are often used in white or brown goods as well as within the furniture industry or in novel architecture concepts. A special challenge for multi material designs is the joining process. Existing technologies to join metals to polymers, like adhesive bonding or mechanical fastening, are ineffective regarding process time (adhesive bonding) or don’t applicate the forces optimally into the material (riveting, bolting). Moreover those technologies use supplemental materials like glue or rivets, which add weight and costs to the construction. The newly developed HPCI® (HeatPressCool-Integrative) – tool appears like a spot resistance welding gun, which is widely used in car body engineering for ...

Abstract: The proposed project concerns about a failure analysis of an electric aluminum alloy conductors damaged and broken for fretting fatigue phenomena induced by aeolian vibrations. Life of electric conductors is often reduced by various degradation mechanisms such as repeated bending, fluctuating tension, distortion, fatigue, wear and corrosion phenomena. However the main limiting factor of the electrical conductors is related to aeolian vibrations in the high frequency range (between 5 to 50 Hz). Conductor oscillations may lead to fretting fatigue problems caused by wind excitation, mainly in the suspension clamp regions, spacers or other fittings. The induced aluminium wire fracture imply a drastic reduction in the transmission line service. Vibration dampers are considered the most effective method to extend ...

NASA inventors have developed a set of puncture self-healing materials comprised of commercially available, known self-healing polymer resin and additive blends. A range of puncture healing blends was developed by melt blending self-healing polymers with non-self-healing polymeric materials.
Benefits

Puncture healing capability of the melt blends improves at higher temperatures
Thermoplastic materials that can repeatedly and intrinsically self-heal without the need for foreign inserts or fillers (such as microencapsulated monomer)
Blend of self-healing polymer materials with high strength polymer resins potentially enables the materials to be used in structural, load bearing applications

Applications

Radiation shielding
Fuel tank liners
Healing layers in ballistic protection for armor, helmets and other personal protective equipment
Packaging material

As the global population continues to grow every year, so too does the demand for agricultural products. To continue feeding the world without damaging the environment is one of the greatest challenges faced by society, and can only be achieved by increasing the efficiency and sustainability of agricultural production.

This project is about filling the gap between modern farming technology which requires skill, more cost and higher tech and traditional or ancient technology still widely used in many countries of the world which does not require much skill, labour-based and lower cost. The mechanism of semi-automated farming technology is very simple. First, there is a C- channel structure (the green structure) fixed with the farming ground at the side ...

Background and Motivation
The conceptual manufacturing process of Hybrid Single Shot (HSS) has been developed by Clemson Composite Center to enable production of customized hybrid structures in one single operation. The metal-polymer sandwich structures provide superior properties such as high bending inertia, sound and heat insulation, and high energy absorption, which make them attractive for aerospace and recently automotive applications. Conventionally, 3D sandwich structures are produced either through a multi-stage manufacturing process or by forming a prelaminated blank. The former approach is not efficient enough for mass productions and the later one limited the forming geometry due to excessive shear tension and interlayer delamination. Hence, in this work, a new process is introduced in which a 3D sandwich structure ...

FEATURES

The design is a four wheeled unmanned ground vehicle(UGV) working without a human onboard. The robot is electrically powered and with a backup battery pack.

The vehicle moves on four rubber wheel and is suitable to operate across the rail tracks.

PLATFORM
The platform is fitted with the wheels, utility and power. The robot is fitted with ultrasonic sensors in other to perceive the environment. It is also fitted with cameras for more perception and visual sensing of the area.

CONTROL
The vehicle is both Remote-Operated and Autonomous enabling for a wider range of control. This is made possible by sensors, microcontrollers and computing systems of the operation team which plan the operation before hand from the data, ...

Bottles of water and aluminum/paper cans are inserted into the machine, shredded by blades and collected in a local area to be used later for recycling. The raw material is made up of bottles and cans in the streets and houses and trash cans. This machine consists of two parts: mechanical and electrical, the main focus of this project is on the mechanical part. Due to the dimensions of the cutting (2*2 cm in size and adjustable to different dimensions with roasting or square forms), which, in addition to easier transportation of crushed material, occupy less volume and result in increased quality of recycling.

Low noise and safety when using and also can use solar energy as a power ...
