We are addressing the challenge of identifying and disabling drone swarms at a distance of more than one kilometer. Our solution is to assemble a defensive drone swarm that can act together as a large phased-array antenna to emit focused high-power microwaves. Such a defensive ensemble will be capable of (1) disabling the electronics in drones at a distance in less than a microsecond; (2) seeing over the horizon; (3) detecting drone swarms; and (4) respond to attacks from any direction. The defensive ensemble will be much more mobile and easily stored than other solutions (e.g., truck-mounted solutions). Our proprietary contributions to this project are (1) the ability to store and release much more power than conventional methods; and (2) the ability to synchronize the radiofrequency generation to higher precision than other sources.
