Rather than a one dimensional back up camera that cannot “see” perpendicular to the direction of the reversing car, why not have a telescoping three-lense camera that “sees” in three directions. When the car is put into reverse, the camera telescopes rearward and gives the driver a view from three directions. The videos could be “stitched” together to make one 180-Degree video. This is particularly useful when backing out between two large vehicles.
