INLARS is a novel, innovative, and revolutionary concept with no direct competitors; consequently, it has never been tested. When an ambulance needs to respond to an emergency, traffic congestion in major cities often delays rescue efforts or aid to victims. INLARS aims to solve this problem, while also assisting firefighters and police with urgent, time-sensitive operations.
Blue light signals would be installed on the medians of major city avenues, adaptable to existing utility poles, overpasses, or traffic light structures.
Public awareness campaigns would instruct drivers to keep the left lane clear while the blue lights are flashing. Once the ambulance, fire truck, or police vehicle passes, the lights would turn off, and traffic would return to normal.
As the ambulance travels, an AI system would manage traffic lights along the route between the hospital and the emergency site, turning lights red just before the vehicle approaches and clearing the way after it passes. This entire process would be repeated on the return trip to the hospital.
The target market includes all public and private hospitals, fire departments, police forces, and other public services that require unobstructed movement through busy or congested streets to provide aid, conduct rescues, or carry out pursuits and arrests.
To become viable, the system requires evaluation by the relevant national or state traffic authority. It does not need to be mandated by strict laws carrying fines for non-compliance, which would facilitate its implementation.
Equipping major city avenues with flashing blue light units—combined with a massive public awareness campaign and the inclusion of system instructions in new driver training and refresher courses—would make it possible to achieve measurable improvements in the response dynamics of ambulances, fire departments, and police.
Controlling traffic lights requires the application of artificial intelligence, alongside rigorous testing prior to the project's implementation. A wave of green lights along the ambulance's route to the scene would eliminate the need for the vehicle to stop at intersections, even when the left lane is completely clear.
As there is no similar product on the market, it is impossible to compare production costs. However, given the system's immense benefits—enabling faster ambulance response times, quicker arrival of firefighters at disaster or fire scenes, and more agile police operations—the cost-benefit ratio will certainly be highly favorable.
