The idea is to protect the user against remote wiretapping on their conversations and other sounds in their surroundings when they are not making phone calls and the smartphone/phone is turned on.
The essence of the idea is the microphone and/or headphone/speaker switch located on the side.
It is installed in the electrical circuit that supplies the signal from the microphone to the motherboard of the smartphone / phone.
The same applies to the handset/speaker electrical system.
This is because the software shutdown of these elements can be easily bypassed remotely, and interrupting the electrical connection with a switch provides a 100% guarantee of cutting off the signals.
The microphone is an obvious source of signals from the environment.
The earphone/speaker are also transducers and the signals from them can also be wiretapped.
There can be one switch electrically cutting off the microphone + earphone + loudspeaker.
Call notification via vibration.
The second option is a microphone switch and a second handset/speaker switch.
We then have a smartphone over which we have complete control in terms of wiretapping.
