EchoGuard is a discreet, intelligent wearable device designed to protect children, adolescents, and vulnerable women from human trafficking, abduction, and violence anywhere in the world. It combines edge AI, multi-language voice recognition, and multi-sensor confirmation to create a reliable and humane protection system.

The device is seamlessly embedded into everyday items such as school shoes (insole or sole), bracelets, necklaces, backpacks, or children’s toys. This makes it nearly impossible to detect or remove by force. It operates completely offline in critical moments — essential when a trafficker confiscates the victim’s phone or in remote areas.

Core Innovation – Drastically Reduced False Alarms

Traditional panic devices often generate too many false alarms with children. EchoGuard solves this with a smart layered approach:

Primary detection includes custom voice activation (“Help”, “Socorro”, “Au secours”, or a family-chosen code word), scream detection, sudden fall + immobility, forced removal attempt, or elevated heart rate.

Smart confirmation: Upon suspicious detection, the device delivers a gentle vibration and softly asks “Are you okay?” through a tiny speaker. The user must confirm with “Yes” or the activation word within 10 seconds.

Behavioral learning: Using TinyML, the device learns the child’s normal voice tone, walking pattern, and daily activities during the first weeks of use, significantly reducing false positives.

When a real alert is confirmed, EchoGuard silently transmits:

  • Precise GPS location (with cellular tower fallback)
  • 15-20 seconds of environmental audio as evidence
  • Sensor data (movement and heart rate)

Notifications are sent simultaneously to family members, local emergency services, and international anti-trafficking partners.

Unique Feature: Echo Community Network

When one device triggers a confirmed alert, all nearby EchoGuard devices (within approximately 1 km) enter passive surveillance mode. They anonymously record movement patterns of potential suspects, creating a powerful community protection mesh without alerting users.

Human-Centered Design

EchoGuard is comfortable, water-resistant, tamper-proof, and offers long battery life with optional small solar charging. A “Buy-One, Give-One” model ensures that for every unit sold in developed markets, one device is donated to at-risk children in vulnerable regions.

This solution is technically feasible today using ESP32-S3, TinyML (TensorFlow Lite Micro), low-cost GPS, and GSM modules. The estimated production cost for the basic version is under $35–40 USD.

EchoGuard gives a voice to those who need it most — transforming ordinary objects into intelligent, silent guardians and building safer communities globally.
