Electrical faults such as overheating overloaded circuits, loose wirings, voltage fluctuations and leakage current are the main causes of equipment damage and electric shock.

Conventional wall sockets are passive devices that provide electrical power but do not continuously monitor their own operating condition or warn users before danger situation develops. Safe socket is a concept for self-testing smart electrical socket designed to improve electrical safety through continuous monitoring early fault detection, and automatic protection.

The proposed design integrates multiple sensing technologies including multiple temperature current, voltage and leakage current sensors into a standard wall socket. A compact microcontroller continuously process sensor data and compares safety threshold. During normal opetation, the socket displays a green LED indicating safe condition. If abnormal conditions such as excessive temperature, overload or electrical leakage are detected,the system activates a yellow warning indicator and an audible buzzer to along the user. In critical situation internal overlay disconnects power to the connected appliance reducing the risk of fire and electric shock.

Safe socket is intended for residential homes, schools hospitals offices and hotels.
