With the current situations in energy markets due to conflicts the basic energy infrastructure is under stress for many countries specially India and china, the both countries have good coal deposits and have good solar irradiance to make a "Solar Powered Coal Gasifier " to mitigate dependency of oil and gas from imports.
The basic design is to use Solar Thermal energy to gasify coal and extract gas fuel sustainably from coal with 110 percent efficiency compared to coal based thermal power plants though for some application we do not say to close coal thermal power plants but the need of time is sustainability locally and independent from interference of world energy dynamics.

Traditional coal gasification relies on the partial combustion of the feedstock to provide the thermal energy required for endothermic gasification reactions. This "autothermal" process consumes a significant portion of the fuel and produces high $CO_2$ emissions. This paper explores the design and feasibility of a Solar-Powered Coal Gasifier (SPCG), which utilizes concentrated solar power (CSP) as the primary external heat source. By decoupling the energy source from the feedstock, the SPCG increases the caloric value of the resulting syngas and significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the process. The initial cost of the setup is high as the design prototype may reach costing up to 120million $ and once it successful it will be a good solution for Independent Power production for East Asia , South Asia and other parts of world.
Solar-powered coal gasification represents a bridge between fossil fuel reliance and renewable energy integration. While high capital costs for CSP remain a barrier, the increase in syngas quality and the reduction in specific $CO_2$ emissions make it a compelling solution for regions with high DNI and abundant coal reserves.
