The Eco Green Ball initiative is inspired by the need to bridge the gap between environmental waste and public recreation. It addresses the issue of ; outdoor foosball tables in UAE parks—rendered useless when equipment is lost (BALL)—by turning fallen leaves into a resource. Inspired by the resilience of local trees like the Ghaf, the project creates a circular economy where nature provides the raw material for play, ensuring sustainability is both tangible and fun.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Eco Green Ball initiative recycles fallen leaves into biodegradable foosball balls for public parks. Using a transparent manual compactor, users follow a ; process: compressing damp leaves (Ghaf/Acacia) with natural resins into a dense dough.; mechanism then shapes 2cm spheres. This circular economy solution restores life to empty foosball tables, offers an interactive educational experience, and ensures a zero-carbon footprint if balls are lost.

The operation and user interaction of the **Eco Green Ball** initiative follow a circular flow designed to be intuitive and engaging for the public.

  1. User Interaction Flow (The Journey)** The process is divided into three visually guided steps on the device to ensure a seamless experience in public parks: **Feed (The Input):** The user collects and places damp, fallen leaves into the device. **Press (The Transformation):** The user applies manual force using the top handle. Through the transparent acrylic tubes, they can watch the loose leaves compress into a dense, consistent;. **Play (The Output):** The user rotates the bottom attachment to shape the ball, which then drops into a collection tray, ready for a foosball match.

  2. Technical Operation (The Mechanism)** The internal operation relies on mechanical pressure and a specialized shaping attachment: **High-Pressure Compaction:** Manual force activates natural polymers and resins (like Arabic Gum and mucilage) found in UAE trees such as Ghaf and Acacia. This naturally binds the fibers without synthetic glues. **The System: **Extrusion:** The compressed dough is pushed through a 2cm circular opening at the base. **Manual Shaping:** As the material emerges, the user manually rotates (twists) the bottom part of the attachment. **Cutting & Smoothing:** An internal safety blade cuts the segment, while the rotation rolls it within a spherical to ensure a perfect 2cm round shape.

Operational Lifecycle** **Immediate Use vs. Durability:** While the ball is formed instantly for immediate play, it reaches its maximum hardness and durability after a natural drying period of **2 to 5 days**. **Maintenance:** The device is designed to be vertical and stable for high-traffic public areas.
