Our mission is to provide the enabling elements for noninvasive brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that will revolutionize the treatment of medical conditions and accelerate the evolution of humankind.
Unlike the present generation of BCIs, the proposed platform will not require any surgery or interventional procedures to place the read/write elements of the BCI. Instead, read/write spintronic particles will be inhaled intra-nasally and delivered into appropriate parts of the brain. We have demonstrated (and published) feasibility of delivery and read/write capability in small-animal models. Delivery and transport will be accomplished with a compact image-guided magnetic device that could sit in offices (or even shopping malls) and operate semi-autonomously. We have built similar compact devices that have been used in more than 300 urology clinics.
The particles will subsequently be actuated with a wearable device that can read and write to individual (and groups of) particles with coded radiofrequency combinations.
Our platform will reshape the field of rehabilitation, psychiatry, and neurology, by introducing read/write particles that can replace damaged neuronal populations. The platform will augment human brains by delivering high-volume connectivity and computing power. Ensembles of the spintronic particles will act as a quantum computer in the host’s organic brain, further multiplying human abilities.
