High-speed vehicle pursuits remain one of the most dangerous situations encountered by law enforcement, frequently resulting in injuries or fatalities involving officers, suspects, bystanders, and property. Current pursuit intervention methods—including spike strips, vehicle contact maneuvers, roadblocks, and tire-deflation devices, can require close physical engagement and may increase the risk of collisions or loss of vehicle control.

This patent-pending concept introduces a fundamentally different approach. Instead of physically disabling a vehicle, it explores using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to remotely deploy a temporary, non-lethal, visibility-obstructing composition onto a transparent exterior target surface, such as a vehicle windshield or motorcycle helmet visor. The objective is to encourage the operator to discontinue movement while avoiding direct vehicle impact or destructive intervention.

The proposed system combines autonomous drone navigation, target identification, precision payload delivery, onboard video transmission, and return-to-base capability into a single public-safety platform. Multiple deployment approaches are contemplated, including burstable impact payloads and controlled spray delivery, allowing flexibility for different operational environments.

The invention is intended as an additional tool, not a replacement for officer judgment, existing pursuit policies, or current law-enforcement procedures. Any practical implementation would require extensive engineering validation, safety testing, legal review, and regulatory approval.

The broader innovation lies in shifting the pursuit of intervention from direct mechanical engagement to remote, non-contact risk mitigation. By leveraging modern drone technology and precision targeting, the concept seeks to expand the range of non-lethal options available to law enforcement while reducing potential harm to officers, vehicle occupants, bystanders, and surrounding property.
