RETROEX PROPS (Retractable/Extendable props)

  • Designed to prevent the occurrence of quadbike rollovers and related machinery such as golf buggies, mobility scooters, and forklifts.
  • There is a risk of serious injuries and sadly deaths because of users being pinned under the machinery when it rolls over. It costs a lot to rehabilitate the injured, therefore the less injuries the more productivity on farms, recreational facilities and industries that use forklifts and the general people on mobility scooters.
  • The contraption is designed to provide tilt counterreaction when the critical tilt angle of the machinery is breached. It utilizes retractable props that extend out and brace the machinery in response to any critical angle tilt thereby providing a life-saving counterbalance to try and stop a complete tip over. It comes with an alarm system designed to alert connected people when a critical tilt angle is breached beyond the point of no return. As opposed to what is currently on the market, the contraption is hidden inside the machinery and therefore does not affect the aesthetic of the machinery. This will improve public safety and give a sense of security to the users of the machinery.
  • To manufacture the product, it is envisaged that recycled metals are used in the case of heavy machinery and strong Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) on lighter machinery such as mobility scooters.

PARTS

  1. Tilt failure chamber – Houses the recoil compression spring and the Tilt failure pusher pin.
  2. Tilt failure trigger case – Holds the Tilt failure trigger.
  3. Tilt failure trigger – Holds the recoil compression spring and the Tilt failure pusher pin in place and release when the critical tilt angle tip over gets breached.
  4. Recoil compression spring – Cocks the Tilt failure pusher pin and shoots when released at critical tilt angle breach.
  5. Recoil compression spring lock – Keeps the recoil compression spring and the tilt failure pusher pin under cock.
  6. Tilt failure pusher pin – Pushes the first telescopic prop in the event it fails to slide out at tilt.
  7. Prop hub – Houses the first telescopic prop.
  8. First telescopic prop slide lock – Prevents the first telescopic prop from shooting out of the prop hub when extending out at tilt.
  9. One-way prop reflux chamber – Houses the telescopic prop reflux lock pin.
  10. One-way telescopic prop reflux lock pin – Prevents the telescopic prop from retracting to create a solid brace.
  11. First telescopic prop – Retracts and slides out of the prop hub.
  12. Second telescopic prop slide lock – Prevents the second telescopic prop from sliding out of the first telescopic prop when extending out at tilt.
  13. One-way telescopic prop reflux slots – Engages the one-way telescopic prop reflux lock pin to prevent the telescopic prop from retracting.
  14. Second telescopic prop – Retracts and slides out of the first telescopic prop to extend the bracing reach.
  15. Rubber pad – Allows for a soft-landing brace.
