In many vehicles equipped with seat belts, occupants often neglect to wear them or fail to adjust the headrests properly. Additionally, there are numerous methods used to bypass these safety systems. The introduction of Smart Seats, Smart Seat Belts, and Smart Headrests offers an effective and comprehensive solution.
If any occupant fails to wear the seat belt, the vehicle's speed will be limited to 10 km/h and will automatically come to a complete stop after 10 minutes or 1 Kms of driving. The Smart Seat Belt system uses advanced algorithms to detect whether the seat is occupied and if the seat belt is correctly fastened. If not, a warning will flash on the instrument cluster / head up display (HUD), indicating which seat is not compliant.
As these systems are part of a connected vehicle network, the information is also relayed to the vehicle owner, allowing for prompt action. The Smart Seat Belt design prevents tampering and ensures that the belt functions optimally during a collision.
The Smart Headrest automatically adjusts its height based on the occupant’s position to help prevent whiplash injuries. In both front and rear rows, the headrest is equipped with deployable wings and airbags that provide additional protection to the head during severe impacts.
The Smart Seat itself features integrated wraparound airbags designed to shield the occupant from external objects during an accident. Additionally, Child Restraint Systems are enhanced with smart features, including wraparound airbag deployment, to ensure maximum safety for young passengers.
The integration of Smart Seats, Smart Seat Belts, Smart Headrests, and Smart Child Restraints creates a cohesive safety system that significantly enhances occupant protection, reduces injuries, and saves lives.
