Smart Power Monitor is a microcontroller-based device designed to monitor electricity consumption in real-time, record power usage data, and transmit this information to users via a web or mobile application.

Key Features:

  1. Monitoring of voltage, current, active power, and energy.
  2. Historical data logging.
  3. Notifications when consumption exceeds the set threshold.
  4. Device control (optional) via relay.

MAIN COMPONENTS

  1. Current & voltage sensors: SCT-013 (current), ZMPT101B (voltage)
  2. Microcontroller: ESP32 (supports Wi-Fi and ADC)
  3. Local display: OLED or LCD
  4. Wi-Fi module: integrated within the ESP32
  5. Relay: for controlling devices
  6. Cloud platform: Firebase / Blynk / MQTT broker
  7. Power supply: 5V or 3.3V depending on board requirements

SYSTEM WORKFLOW

  1. The current and voltage sensors collect data from the electrical line.
  2. The ESP32 calculates:
    • Current (I)
    • Voltage (V)
    • Active power (P = V × I)
    • Energy (power accumulation)
  3. Data is displayed on the OLED.
  4. The ESP32 sends the data to the cloud (e.g., Firebase, MQTT broker, or Blynk).
  5. The cloud stores and displays the data through the application or web interface.
  6. If the consumption exceeds the limit, the system activates a notification and/or cuts off power using the relay.
