The design life of a wind turbine is twenty years. Considering the significant growth in the number of wind turbine installations since the 1990s, it can be concluded that many of these installations have already reached their applicable life limit or are on the verge of exceeding it. The fact that many locations chosen for the implementation of these projects are in regions with wind notoriously favorable to energy generation points to the advantage of continuing the operation of these projects. There is also the benefit of knowing the resource's behavior, which reduces risks and uncertainties from both the point of view of construction and energy generation. Another factor to be considered is that the enterprise already has a high level of acceptance in the community where they are inserted, among other aspects, bringing economic dynamism to the region. The incremental innovation proposed here allows you to do what is already being done, but in a better way. In the case of wind energy exploration, it is possible to change the blades much more cost-effectively, making a wind turbine much more efficient. Society would benefit from allowing the renewal of a much larger number of wind turbines.
The present invention concerns a self-supporting metal platform comprising: a robust and rigid metal structure, a walkway, two winches installed on the platform, a device for anchoring to the main bearing of the nacelle, rotating arms for positioning cables and coupling fasteners to the root of the turbine blade, lifting machines positioned on the ground and also a system of casters to provide the sliding of the platform when moving close to the tower. To withstand the lifting efforts of the blades, the anchoring system is attached to the skeleton of the platform: a structure composed of metal profiles of high rigidity and resistance that will transfer to the tower structure, using contact pads, the efforts resulting from the moments involved. The metal structure supports a platform to allow the movement of personnel. On the platform, two winches are positioned to provide the movement of ascent and descent to the vicinity of the nacelle. Protective railings are placed on the perimeter of the platform. The platform will also accommodate control and automation systems and control boxes.
This invention aims to improve and simplify the operation of replacing wind turbine blades with rotating arms that facilitate the coupling process and positioning the pulleys for the passage of the lifting cables. In this procedure, with movements of only a quarter of the arm's turn, the positioning of the anchor and sliding points of the cables is achieved so that they are solidary to the structure of the platform, therefore able to withstand the significant efforts involved. The workers carry out the entire operation on the platform within the limits of the protective railings.
