The problem of recycling and rational use of leather production waste, especially in recent years, has become relevant all over the world. This is explained by the fact that in the process of producing natural leather, a large amount (30 - 50% of the mass of raw materials) of waste is formed. The reserves for improving product quality and increasing production mobility should also include solving one of the most pressing problems for the clothing industry today: the rational and efficient use of expensive raw materials.
The share of expenses for fur and leather semi-finished products in the cost of fur and leather products reaches 80-90%. Therefore, their economical use plays a very significant role in reducing the cost of products. Increasing the utilization coefficient of fur semi-finished products and natural leather materials by maximizing the use of scrap and low-grade raw materials plays a significant role. However, it is impossible to completely avoid waste. Important importance is given to the methods of processing the waste of fur-meat semi-finished products obtained during the cutting of the main product. Much attention is paid to the issues of placing patterns of parts in order to rationally use materials and reduce the percentage of waste between patterns.
