Traditional energy consumption and farming methods are not scalable or sustainable enough to meet the demand of future generations. Labor shortages are rising as rural populations are shrinking, and younger generations are less interested in farming careers. Climate change and supply chains concerns are exacerbating the need for action. The global population is projected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, requiring food production to increase by around 70%. The AgTech market was valued at around $20 billion in 2022 and is expected to surpass $50 billion by 2030. Investment in AgTech startups raised over $10 billion in venture funding in 2023.
Geb-Ra Food and Power is combining two impactful needs of future generations for sustainability on the planet with the creation of our Pyramid farm. A micro grid aquaponic farming system that runs a 100% off of renewable energy with the capacity to generate megawatts of electricity and tons of organic fish and produce all year round under all weather conditions. The complex has solar, wind and hydro power systems integrated into the construction along with battery storage, an external solar thermal tower and industrial tubular wind towers to create excess electricity to feed back to the community of service on a daily basis Hydro panels and rainwater collection with water tank storage will meet the water demands of the facility without having to bring in additional resources. The system is comprised of recycled shipping containers for easy duplication and construction with the first level fish production and second and third levels fruit and vegetables.
The goal of the company is to create an unbreakable supply chain of food and energy. By placing the complexes in areas where large amounts of produce and electricity are consumed on a daily basis like school campuses then strategically positioned in a connectable fashion. Cities can be become safer, thriving and self sufficient. Residents can have lower energy and food prices as production will be more concentrated and locally sourced. Strain on older energy grids will become more stable and less consumption of high processed foods could lower obesity and cancer rates while creating a healthier community. A franchise component to the company like McDonalds could spur faster adoption and a new entrepreneurial culture.
