EcoSia® Inorganic Silicate Coating – Key Features & Advantages

EcoSia is a next-generation mineral paint engineered from potassium silicate, nanoscale ceramic fillers and functional additives. Unlike conventional acrylic or epoxy systems that form a plastic film, EcoSia reacts chemically with mineral or metal substrates to create a glass-ceramic network that is physically anchored (micro-silicification). This unique chemistry delivers five strategic advantages:

Fire & Extreme-Heat Defense

  • Non-combustible (Class A / EN 13501-1 A1) and stable above 1 700 °C.
  • Interrupts flame propagation and prevents battery “thermal runaway” from spreading across EV packs or parking-garage walls.
  • Generates no toxic smoke or flaming droplets during a fire.

Zero-Emission, Human-Safe Formulation

  • 100 % water-borne; VOC, formaldehyde and heavy-metal content are below detection limits.
  • Odour-free application enables coating of food-processing plants, hospitals and animal facilities without shutdown time.
  • Alkaline pH provides natural anti-microbial and anti-mold performance without added biocides.

Breathable yet Waterproof Barrier

  • Microporous matrix repels bulk water and salts while allowing water vapour to escape (Sd ≤ 0.01 m).
  • Stops blistering, efflorescence and rebar corrosion on concrete, even in coastal or freeze-thaw environments.
  • Proven resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils and marine spray.

Durability & Life-Cycle Economy

  • 15-year reference service life (RSL); colourfast inorganic pigments resist UV chalking.
  • Eliminates two to three recoil cycles normally required for epoxy or urethane floors, cutting maintenance man-hours by 50 % and life-cycle cost (LCC) by up to 40 %.
  • Independent LCA studies show a carbon footprint of 0.59 kg CO₂e m-² vs. 2–7 kg CO₂e m-² for typical organic coatings, saving 0.16–0.43 kg CO₂e m-² yr-¹.

Versatile Application & Aesthetics

  • Single-component, brush/roller/spray-ready; cures at ambient temperature without catalysts.
  • Bonds to concrete, masonry, fibre-cement, steel, aluminium and even aged epoxy after light abrasion.
  • Available in ten colour-coded grades (ECOSIA-01 – 10) tailored for architecture, food-safe interiors, EV workshops, coastal infrastructure and defence assets.

Summary – EcoSia turns walls, floors and enclosures into ceramic armour that is fire-safe, emission-free and virtually maintenance-free, delivering quantifiable ESG and cost benefits for builders, operators and investors striving for a low-carbon, resilient future.
