Inspired by: People nowadays are more concerned about health than anything, your body belongs to
you, especially after corona virus, money can’t defeat virus, your body can with strong
body and immune system, the only way to achieve this goal is through training, as you
probably notice that there are more gyms on the street than banks, people want to look
fit and muscular, training wears are a huge market worth billions and billions dollars. I
believe my design will roar high in this industry.
As a gym-goer I used to like doing squats barefooted for better balance and a more stable
contact surface on the floor, whereas if I were to squat on a pair of runners or cross
training shoes, the presence of a mid-sole would often weaken the balance. One day, a
staff of the gym came up to me and advised me against barefoot training for hygiene and
safety reasons. True enough, as I thought about it, imagine the gym floor being trodden
by other gym users wearing footwear from other places. We don’t know where the shoes
have been to and what they bring along to the gym grounds.
Taking the staff’s advice, I began wearing and trying out various shoes that have flatter
soles and even minimal shoes on the market. Like fitkicks and fivefingers,However, none of them were comfortable enough for me. At the same time, I noticed
some squatters and dead-lifters wear socks in their training. Having tried that too, I found
wearing socks alone equally unsuitable for stability and balance in weight lifting. Firstly,
most socks are knitted from cotton and the lack of anti-slip soles causes the feet to slip
apart as I carry heavier weights. Without the traction under the soles of the socks, I had to
shift my feet every few seconds to get a firm footing on the ground with every lifting or
curling of my weights. Secondly, the design and the way they are knitted are not suitable
for prolonged use. Frustrated, I searched through the internet and the market to find a pair
of shoes that would fit my indoor training purposes.
But finding none that satisfy my concept of an ideal indoor training shoe, I embarked on a
journey of designing a training shoe that would give comfort and stability simultaneously
to a weight lifter but minus the hardness of a normal sports shoes for flexibility and easy
manoeuvrability. This process took me a year to see its fruition. The result of the design is
a hybrid of what looks like a sock but wears like a shoe. This indoor training shoe which I
have patented as Xtreme Kinetic minimal shoes, employs the latest fly knit technology
and seamlessly woven into a breathable and light shape. The idea of my design looks like
socks, wears like a shoes, and much comfortable than shoes when training, probably the
most comfortable minimal shoes in the world, because it is knitted, very breathable and
light, others just moulded plastic.
