VAYU-The Power House

The VAYU is a prototype under development to meet the needs of electricity consumption by our society in the future. The renewable energy namely rain, solar and wind. Not only does it use renewable energy but also simple resources which are easily accessible and available globally, such as bamboo as a pole. It is constructed near coastal areas and the best part is that it can also be constructed on barren lands. Furthermore, Vayu can be used where wind speed is at low rate due to solar panels attached at the blades and also use of piezoelectric crystal as wind energy is not constant source of energy.

Wind turbine is mounted on a shaft through hub, four blades are been used made up of aluminum which is 5 ft long and 4 mm thickness. On the other hand, out of all blades two of them is built of solar panels which are stationary. The solar panels are n- type with an efficiency of 20-25%, n-type IBC solar panels are by far the most efficient solar panels in use. IBC has back contact energy conversion. This allows for the entire front of the cell to absorb sunlight, without any shading from the metal ribbons converting more photons to energy. The rotor diameter is 155metre. The swept area is 18,868 m² and the height of the tower is 90, 102.5, 122.5, 165 m. The corners of the blades have hollow cavity to increase the production of electricity. In the hollow cavity the piezoelectric crystals are been placed as rainwater falls on its electricity is generated. When the wind is blowing more than 12 miles per hour, each wind turbine can produce 1.5 megawatts of electricity daily.

The windmill blades collect rainwater due to hollow cavity on the blades. The kinetic energy converts wind energy to mechanical energy. Moreover, mechanical energy converts into electric energy on account of piezoelectric crystals, which are placed in hollow cavity to increase the efficiency of electricity. Another key to remember is that we are using solar panels on the blades which converts the sun rays into electricity by exciting electrons in silicon cells using the photons of light from the sun. Simultaneously, bamboo poles are being used as it easily available and cheaper. As we all know global warming is rising rapidly due to which it causes tremendous increment in the sea level so, these waves are converted into electricity hence this electricity can be used to desalinate the water.

The benefit of this is that it is compact and transportable and one of the major points is that it also functions as a power and battery station, where cars and batteries can be recharged. It also provides job opportunities in this sector. The inbuilt battery can store the energy and delivers the output to the people. The operations have been smoothened but also the efficiency has been increased to a great extent. In conclusion, Vayu consummate the sustainable cities and communities and with sustainable technologies or future energy.
