Remote and imaging Photoplethysmographic imaging (rPPG or iPPG) is a major advance in noncontact cardiac monitoring. Using camera technology, rPPG measures blood flow in the superficial layers of the skin by detecting fluctuations in light absorption caused by changes in blood volume.
