The Invention is about the control of access to doorless area where electromechanical barriers are used to keep the area apart. The Innovation is designed as a single-spiral barrier, the function of which is to let persons through into a protected area. The Helicoidal Single-Spiral Barrier consists of a base (1) supporting a rotator (2) that moves the Single-Spiral Barrier (3) over a controller (4), and an electric motor (5). By activating an optical sensor, mounted on the base (1), or by activating a card reader with the identification code, the rotator (2) turns by 360°, turning with it the Single-Spiral Barrier (3), which with its helicoidal structure is gently and continuously pushing the person from his or her rear side, whilst from the front side the passage is being opened in the given direction of movement. Such an elegant passage through the helicoidal single-spiral electromechanical barrier gives persons a sense of security as they are gently and continuously steered in the given direction, and as they at the same time pass unimpeded through the barrier even if carrying sizeable articles.

The Helicoidal Single-Spiral Barrier offers numerous advantages in comparison with standard rotational barriers.

1. Passage of 20-60 (or more) people per minute
2. Unimpeded passage of people through the barrier in a way that the passage opens from the front side, whereas from the rear side a person is gently and continuously pushed in the given direction of movement.
3. People are smoothly passing through the barrier carrying additional articles, such as bags or other portables.
4. Silent rotational operation of the Helicoidal Single-Spiral Barrier.
5. Simplicity and functionality of the system’s design
6. A new and practical design unknown in the world.
7. A delayed movement of the person passing through the barrieris detected by the barrier’s security system, which instantly stops further rotation rotation.

Intended use:
The Helicoidal Single-Spiral Barrier is intended for:
• low or high rate of the flow of people
• resistance to vandalism and weather conditions
• suitable for both outdoor and indoor installation
• access to (railway, bus) terminals
• access to swimming pools (outdoor and indoor)
• sanitary facilities (toilets, show cabins)
• marinas
• other access points where there is a need for automatic payment
