I have a proposal for a new transportation that would REPLACE the automobile. It involves merging an older concept called PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) with the newer innovations in automation demonstrated by the DARPA challenges and the Google driverless cars. The plan is to basically retrofit our current transportation infrastructure with a rail-based, shared, fully electric (without battery) transportation system.
