An effort has been made via Oxygenated Fuel Assisted System for IC engines to reduce emissions of harmful pollutants like NOx and CO to save the Earth from increasing global warming and airborne diseases.

1 ) Working of OFAS
Atmospheric air is drawn with filter by the help of compressor to create pressurized air.
Inlet valve of sieve filter 1 is opened.
Pressurized air flows into the sieve filter 1 and pressure in the filter raises.
N2 is adsorbed by the zeolite material from air due to PSAp.
O2 molecules pass through valve and stored in O2 tank.
After few seconds sieve filter 1 becomes saturated (full of N2).
Switching valves re-route the air flow.
Pressurized air is now forced into the sieve filter 2.
Sieve filter 1 inlet side is ported to the atmosphere.
Switching valve 5 opens.
Pressure drop occurs in sieve filter 1.
A small sum of filtered O2 from O2 tank flows backward into the sieve filter 1.
Zeolite expels the N2 molecules due to PSAp.
The O2 and N2 molecule recombines and exits to atmosphere via muffler.
The same cycle is carried out through the sieve filter 2 as in sieve filter 1.
After few seconds, the cycle repeats again in the sieve filter 1.
Max. O2 concentration expected - 96-98%
2) Working of DOCs
O2 and fuels mix together with the EGR gases (for dilution) controlled by ECU.
The mixture is channeled to the reaction zone where the combustion takes place.

3) Working of ZSFCs
Zeolite sieve pellets are fitted inside walls for CO2 adsorption from EGR using PSAp.
With PC, PV and suction pipe the desorption of trapped CO2 molecules from sieve beds is done after tank gets partially saturated.
The PC is connected to EGR-LR pipe by MV which is controlled by ECU.
The opening of MV is calibrated by ECU to allow calibrated amount of desorbed molecules into DOCs via EGR-LRs to tune the dilution % of O2-fuel mixture to control the combustion.
The rest of the gases (having small sum of harmful pollutants) is let out via tail pipe to atmosphere.
SEPARATION OF N2 FROM AIR
ACQUIRING FILTERED O2 FROM AIR.
FORMATION OF NOx and CO DURING COMBUSTION IS ELIMINATED.
FUEL CONSUMPTION IS REDUCED.
UHC EMISSIONS IS REDUCED
Use of OFAS with DOCs, EGR-LR, CO2 adsorbing ZSFCs,PC and MV.
ADSORPTION PROCESS LIFE CYCLE IS PROLONGERD.
LESS MAINTENANCE REQUIRED.
THE CO, CO2 CONCENTRATIONS ARE LOWERED.
Hence, reduction in pollution is achieved.
