Reducing or eliminating Shockwave is of paramount importance to maximize Supersonic and Hypersonic flight efficiency. In order to reduce marginally the shock wave I have successfully developed a new concept after spending several years to research. The concept is described below.

Description

To cancel shock wave move two metal piece in forward and backward direction in such a way that sound produced by both pieces cancel each other (the sound is out of phase with each other).

By changing the distance between two pieces you can cancel shock wave at variable or different speeds. Find the wave length of sound aircraft producing at particular speed and move the whole backward moving metallic piece mechanism accordingly at that particular speed. Position back metallic piece in such a way that it reaches the position of front piece passed in half the time of wavelength front piece producing. Then move the back piece in backward direction in such a way that it produces a sound wave opposite in phase.

In the figure;

X = Speed of aircraft

Y = Relative speed of front piece with respect to aircraft

Actual Forward velocity of front piece = X+Y

Backward speed of front piece = -Y

Backward actual speed of back piece = 2(X+Y)

Forward actual speed of back piece = Y+(X+Y)/2

Backward Travelling Time of back piece = Forward Travelling Time of Front piece

During forward stroke of front piece moves slightly faster than aircraft, relative to air (X+Y) and relative speed of back piece with respect to aircraft is double the forward speed of front piece and opposite in sign [ -2(X+Y) ]. So speed of back piece with respect to air will be same and opposite in sign of front piece [ -(X+Y) ]. In other words; backward velocity of back metal piece is 2(X+Y) (double the forward velocity of front piece in forward direction) the relative velocity of back metal piece in backward direction with respect to air will be same and opposite in sign (negative) of that of front piece in forward direction with respect to air. So sound wave and thereby shockwave produced by front and back piece cancels out if we adjust the distance between them in such a way that both waves are opposite in phase. So there will not be any shock wave. Since actual backward velocity of front piece is same and opposite in sign of aircraft ( –Y ) the relative velocity with respect to air will be Zero. You can place similar system to other parts to cancel shockwave that part producing.

The concept is useful in making Zero noise Combat Aircrafts and for making new generation supersonic or hypersonic commercial aircrafts.
