The Viento HD is the first commercially available High Definition 1080p longwave-infrared (LWIR) camera providing true high-definition (HD) imaging. The fully functional camera system is based upon a unique 1920 x 1200 x 12μm image sensor utilizing uncooled vanadium oxide (VOx) technology with a resolution of more than 2.3 million pixels with a 12-micron pixel pitch and NETD of less than 50mK. The Viento HD is ideal for industrial, military/defense, and airborne reconnaissance applications where the number of pixels should be maximized. The uncooled microbolometer detector provides high reliability and long life by eliminating the need for a cryocooler and any associated servicing or maintenance.
This high-definition camera system offers full frame rate video at 30Hz using a variety of 1080p video outputs including HD-SDI, H.264 IP, or 16-bit full dynamic-range digital data via CameraLink. The Viento HD camera includes integrated image enhancement functions such as automatic AGC, CLAHE, LAP, sharpening and de-noise and has the ability to accept tagging or GPS metadata through the integrated I/O port.
The system includes IP67 rated cabling and a hard carbon-coated 24mm F#1.1 fixed focal length Athermalized lens with custom lenses available upon request. The camera was built for rugged outdoor environments and is housed in an IP67 environmentally rated enclosure that provides superior protection against dust, particulate, and water ingress from high pressure water jets or short-term immersion of up to 1 meter depth.
