The main objective of this Luggage Bot is to make it convenient for people to carry things and load (around) or above 5kg, especially for elders, physically challenged (Divyang), women and others who find it tough to carry heavy loads. This will be made possible by making the bot follow them instead of dragging heavy luggage. The Luggage Bot prototype which will develop will be able to follow a specific person assisting him in carrying luggage through busy areas like shopping malls, railway stations, and airports. Target following (means following only a specific person) will be achieved. Target following will be done using an ultrasonic sensor or camera module depending on feasibility.

A large amount of luggage is misplaced every year. Luggage Bot will ensure that you don’t misplace and forget your luggage which is a major concern since something important of yours can be lost. For anti-theft we will be using RFID as a locking system and a pin code can also be used to unlock using a mobile app. In case the Luggage Bot is not able to catch up and loses the target a message will be sent to the mobile using GSM alerting the owner of the luggage.

What is new in the project: Multi-Purpose – It is not only for traveling purpose it can be used in household work, hospitals, libraries and shopping malls. And at railway stations where it is very tough to carry in the busy places. In the present scenario certain luggage carrier are available in the market but they are as per the airport use only. It’s not for luxury it is to cater to the needy.
