Here we present a modification in the elevator (lift) which can easily harvest the waste energy when the lift will be in operation, which will be due to the Recyclable Triboelectric materials. This modification increases the energy efficiency of the building. There is waste of energy during the up and down motion of an elevator and some amount of this energy can be easily harvested by this modification in the elevator.
Here we will be introducing the concept of Triboelectric Nanogenerator. Basically, triboelectric nanogenerator is a concept of generation of electricity by having rubbing action between two triboelectric materials or either when they come in contact and separated, there is an electron transfer between these materials, which can be either directly used to power electronic devices in the elevator or can be stored.
According to our design, the modification will be able to extract waste energy from the motion of the lift by introducing the concept of triboelectric nanogenerator. Here triboelectric materials will be used to extract this energy and will be stored in a battery which will further be used to power the components of the elevator hence it will be increasing the energy efficiency of the building. Some triboelectric materials are recyclable hence they can be easily Recycled, Reduced and Reused.
