LifeSense ESD

The LifeSense ESD device consists of a breather body and disposable mouth piece and sensor strip. The breather body and mouth piece are made by injection molding. The sensor strip is prepared specific to the disease to be tested.

Many products are in development to sense disease by smell. The LifeSense ESD is easy to produce and of lower cost to manufacture than any of the products we were able to find.

Early diagnosis of disease focuses on detecting symptomatic patients as early as possible so they have the best chance for successful treatment. When disease detection is delayed or inaccessible there is a lower chance of survival, greater problems associated with treatment and higher costs of care.

In 2012 I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. It took more than 9 months before I started my treatment for the cancer. In 1975 my mother was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen. When they opened her up to operate, the cancer had spread to several other organs. They sewed her back up and started radiation treatments. She survived only a few months. In 2014 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In 2015 I was diagnosed with skin cancer.

Carcinoma of the bladder (UCB) has the highest lifetime treatment cost of all cancers, with estimated expenditures of approximately $187,000 per case and, in 2010, a cost of approximately $4 billion to treat. There is significant variation among providers in the clinical management of UCB, with concerns that compliance with treatment guidelines should be optimized to help improve patient outcomes.
