Visually Impaired people face a lot of struggles in doing day to day work. A cane type traditional device is used by them for every small work. It is very difficult for blind people to carry the device whereever they go. So we are designing a handheld device. Since it is a handheld device, the person holding it won't face any difficulty. When the user turns on the device, a LIDAR sensor starts sensing the environment around the user. If any obstacle is detected, it notifies the user that any obstacle is detected. The LIDAR sensor is interfaced with a microcontroller, Arduino UNO. A headphone and vibrator or LED is connected at the output. If there is any obstacle the headphone gives audio output that there is something ahead. A vibrator is used for the purpose of indicating even the neighbor at a certain distance of the blind person that the there is an obstacle for the blind person. We also use the the ultrasonic sensor in the bottom of the device for indicating the sudden increases or decreases from stationary height like stairs or groves and a headphone is used for audio output. DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor is utilized for giving exact weather output for the user when push button is pressed. By this way we can help blind people to live happier.
