Inspired by: We have an interest in flight test flow visualization to see what is actually happening on flight vehicles. Specifically, here we are improving the original AirBOS technique to be able to image the X-59, dynamic supersonic and transonic events (e.g., accelerations, shock formation, store separations), as well as subsonic phenomena such as wing tip vortices and rotor wakes in forward flight.
