I am proposing a device that will help in reducing the drinking water shortage at different regions in the world.
Clean, safe drinking water is scarce. Today, nearly 1 billion people in the developing world don't have access to it. Yet, we take it for granted, we waste it, and we even pay too much to drink it from little plastic bottles.Water is the foundation of life. And still today, all around the world, far too many people spend their entire day searching for it. In places like sub-Saharan Africa, time lost gathering water and suffering from water-borne diseases is limiting people's true potential, especially women and girls.Education is lost to sickness. Economic development is lost while people merely try to survive. But it doesn't have to be like this. It's needless suffering.
WHY SIMPLE ATMOSPHERIC WATER GENERATOR
My device helps in absorbing of water from atmosphere and get it purified(drinkable) using some natural materials in a very cheap and effective way.
CONCEPT OF WORKING
When Hot air is passed through a cold region WATER VAPOUR is produced.
1.Cycle pump- A simple and easy way to pump hot air.
2.Mud pot-Absorbs heat from inside the pot and releases it to the atmosphere,maintaining a lower temperature at the inside.
3.Clay-Helps in cooling the inner region of the mud pot.
4.Copper coil-Generates water vapour from hot air and acts as a purifier,which makes the water drinkable.
5.PVC pipe-Transports generated water to outside and also reduces the amount of heat flow.
6. Polyimide tube-Transports hot air from pump to inner mud pot and reduces heat flow rate from inner mud pot to the atmosphere.
The smaller mud pot is kept inside the larger mud pot.The remaining space between the two pots is filled with clay.The copper coil is kept inside the smaller pot.The inlet of copper coil is connected with the cycle pump using polyimide tube.A PVC pipe is attached to the inner pot so that water can be taken out easily.A cap made of mud is used at the outside to prevent heat loss.
When cycle pump is pumped hot air starts to flow inside the copper coil.The mud pot naturally removes heat ,which makes the inside of the inner pot maintain at low temperature.So,when hot air suddenly comes in contact with the copper coil,which is at low temperature vapour is generated.These vapours are collected as droplets at the inside of the inner mud pot.The water collected at the mud pot again helps in maintaining the inner side at lower temperature.Since copper and mud pots are natural purifiers the water collected will always be drinkable.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
Advantages-Simple and cheap process,No purifier is required,Safe for drinking,installation is easy,can be installed in any region .Disadvantages-Water is produced at very slow rate,clay is to be recharged with water once a week,should be installed at region where no sunlight is allowed.
If electrical pump is used ,water production rate can be increased but,moisture content of clay must be maintained.
