You know, there is a reason that no one had asked for this device at the pump: didn’t know it existed, until now.
Gas Cap Grip: This consumer tool is needed. And, the one size fits all factory fuel caps.
There are approximately 240 million vehicles on today’s roadways. More than 200 million vehicles have fuel caps. The average vehicle is 11.7 years old. And, according to the US Department of Transportation, that will rise to 11.9 by 2020.
There are a lot of gas caps out there to be dealt with…
According to the US Census-Vital Statistics, in 2016, our US population soared to 325 million, with a median age of 37.8 years. And, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 50 million adults reported doctor-diagnosed arthritis, with 20 million that had activity limitation cause by arthritis. Another 74.9 percent of individuals 45 to 64 years (91 percent for those 65 or older; and, approximately 38 million of those 65-plus driving) have been told by their doctor that they had some form of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus or fibromyalgia, per the CDC.
Couple that with the US Department of Transportation stats showing that 65 percent of people with disabilities drive a vehicle, on average five days a week.
Georgia Tech’s manual dexterity study in cold environments compounds the consumer issue of removing/installing the fuel cap. The group measured performance issues at temperatures of 35, 55 and 75 degrees. At winter temps of 35 degrees, there was up to a 16 percent decrease in their already compromised dexterity issue, versus 55 and 75 degrees.
And, those are just the stats for drivers with dexterity issues due to a physical ailment.
What about those individuals with manicured nails?
What about those individuals pumping fuel in winter, trying to manipulate the cap with winter gloves on their hands?
The examples can go on and on.
By having the Gas Cap Grip available to your consumers – aiding in loosening and tightening the fuel cap at the pump -- prevents vapor/vehicle emission “venting” by keeping that tight seal; keeping dollars in consumers’ wallets – not wasted on frivolous “check engine light” diagnostics at the repair shop. And, manufactured with HDPE polyethylene plastic, the patented, Gas Cap Grip is very durable (drove my 12,000-pound pickup truck over the item; stayed intact), virtually weatherproof.
