CabiBUS Sustainable Mobility

There are too many fossil fuel cars on the roads and streets in the world, causing pollution, congestions and accidents. But the existing public transit vehicles and services are not efficient and attractive enough to make most car users change their behaviour and use buses, trams and trains for their daily trips.

E-commerce is increasing the distribution of parcels, but last mile deliveries are mostly made with large and noisy fossil fuel vans and trucks.

Disabled and wheelchair users have limited possibilities for mobility.

CabiBUS is a self-driving electric minibus for on-demand, door-to-door transit in private cabins. By offering comfortable, efficient, economic, safe and secure trips it can make a large number of car users move to sustainable and shared mobility. With 6 passengers, replacing 6 cars, the traffic is reduced with 83%.

The cabins are exchangeable for parcel boxes and on evenings and weekends, when most people are at home and can receive their parcels, the silent and pollution free CabiBUS makes the deliveries.

A rear cabin can be booked for wheelchair users, substantially increasing their mobility. The rear cabin can also be booked by a passenger for a baby stroller or large luggage.

Cities all over the world are trying to make more people use public transportation but now they must warn against using buses and trams because of the Corona virus. The private cabins in CabiBUS will offer a unique safety against infections: Fresh and filtered air supply to each cabin prevents direct contamination from other passengers. When a passenger leaves the cabin and before the next passenger is picked up, strong UV-C LED lamps floods ultraviolet light over the surfaces in the cabin to destroy possible bacteria, viruses and other harmful microbes. This is only possible in a shared vehicle with separate cabins for each passenger.

Other unique passenger protections, in case of an accident, are airbags all around each passenger and a strong framework around each cabin.

Many large companies are now planning to introduce Robotaxis and shared mobility within a couple of years, when level 4 autonomy is ready. The vehicles they present for this have an open interior although it may feel very uncomfortable and unsafe for many passengers to share with strangers in a vehicle without driver. Will parents send their children to school or activities in such vehicles?

CabiBUS patented solution with separate and exchangeable cabins will be the most attractive alternative for the daily trips and provide a fast transition to sustainable mobility.

There is a huge global market with cities and regions planning for many billions in public transit investments to fight the climate crisis and traffic congestion.

All technology required, except level 4 autonomy, are already available from many suppliers. CabiBUS will build a modular design and licence to car manufacturers that are looking for new products when car sales is going down. Level 4 launch is estimated to 2022-2023 and then the production can start as soon as the design is finished and tested.
