The BobbyJack Pipe Lift (US Patent No. 8,596,612) is used in all industries utilizing process pipe supported in pipe racks. Primarily due to the phenomena of Crevice Corrosion at the interface of pipe-to-support beam, virtually all piping systems are at risk.

Crevice Corrosion is a costly problem particularly in chemical plants, refineries, offshore oil platforms, and to a lesser degree in power plants, food processing plants, and any industry employing process pipe.

To effectively manage this problem, a good mechanical integrity requires periodic lifting of the pipe from it's support to assess damage. Where a problem is detected, the pipe must be lifted in order to fix the problem (e.g. Sandblasting&Painting or other mechanical repair).

Certain products such as I-Rod (product of Deepwater Corrosion, Inc.) or similar variations, are effective in preventing crevice corrosion at pipe supports. To install any of these products, the pipe must be lifted to allow installation.

The most conventional means of lifting pipe for any of these purposes has been use of a crane with Equipment Operator and Rigger. Use of The BobbyJack Pipe Lift is a safer and much more economical means of lifting pipe.
