This device would use a small camera such as used in cell phones, probably attached to an eyeglass frame to observe the anticipated path of a person of limited vision or blind. A computer would check the image for posts, stairs, walls or curbs or other objects in the pathway and provide input to a tactile device (from Australia) likely worn on the belly or back. Some patients might be able to identify objects such as chairs or tables with a little experience.
