When you are thirsty you are already 10% dehydrated, and the adverse effects of this problem range from dizziness to, for the most severe cases, a heat stroke. So far, no method or device has been able to predict when the time will come for dehydration.

hDrop is a non-invasive, inexpensive, and easy way to track hydration.

A wearable device able to measure your hydration status in real-time through your sweat, hDrop measures the changes in electrolytes in your sweat as well as your body temperature in order to provide early notifications to the user.

Simply secure it on your upper arm when going for a walk or run, connect it to your smartphone or smart watch, and get live notifications about your hydration. Know what and when to drink!

Until now, hydration measurement systems invented were slow, invasive, and non-real-time. hDrop will provide real-time data in a faster, non-invasive way. The only thing you will need is a little bit of sweat! If you have sweaty hands, you can put your finger over the sensor and receive the information immediately through your smartphone. hDrop can detect sedentary activities too! It just takes a little bit more time to get results. When you are seated or lying down, you are perspiring at a slower rate, requiring a little more time to get measurements.

Up to 60% of the human adult body is water. Sweating is the cooling process your body goes through to help you maintain a steady body temperature. Believe it or not, your body is constantly perspiring and regulating your temperature. Your sweat is composed of electrolytes, sometimes referred to salts. Those electrolytes are mixed with water in your sweat and they can carry electrical current.

Our device has a non-provisional patent submitted (national and international PCT), with a new and novel sensor configuration. This sensor sends a tiny and harmless current through the top of your skin. Whenever you sweat electrolytes, the sensor is able to detect the amount of electrical resistance across the electrolytes. Knowing the amount of electrolytes that you are losing, hDrop can track and estimate your hydration status. Isn't it cool?

hDrop is designed to be produce with a 80% profit margin, and we can produce 300 units with a 6 weeks lead time. The embedded software has been developed to be used on a Dialog Semiconductor System-on-chip. We started marketing in November 2020 and we have received 250 Pre-Orders so far. The app uses machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to predict electrolyte levels, water loss, and dehydration states.
