One of the main reasons mechanical failure occurs in any kind of machinery is due to failure of the gear especially when the gear tooth beaks suddenly due to different reasons. The only way to deal with gear tooth breakage that is considered unfillable is replacement of the gear and disposal, but what if this is not the case?
Anteneh’s design for disassembly gear is a new kind of gear concept that can be reused after an immediate damage on the gear tooth without any maintenance or replacement of the gear. This is done by instead of making tooth of gear part to the whole body of the gear, they are made to be fit and assembled in to opening of body of the gear so that when there is damage they can be replaced with same size tooth for immediate use and prolongation of lifespan of the gear lowering Carbon footprint of mechanical system. Depending on the thickness of the gear a small sealant on the body of the gear so that the gear tooth do not fall off in Z-axis will be installed.
The other advantage of this DFD gear design is that it lower bending stress wear because the assembled tooth work as cantilever system reducing force between each tooth.
