Inspired by: As a physician/scientist I am aware of the difficulties faced both by the general public, health care professionals and hospitals to screen for the incidence of diabetes and the risk of developing diabetes in a given individual. It is also not clear how much exercise or diet control is needed to ward off the development of diabetes. Similarly, it is not clear whether a diabetic is under threat to develop complications of diabetes such as retinopathy, nephropathy, etc. The markers proposed will not only help to predict the development of diabetes but also to know whether complications of diabetes are likely to develop. Thus, the ELISA plate proposed to be developed is useful not only in the prevention and management of diabetes but also to know the efficacy of treatment offered and development of complications of diabetes.
