Inspired by: My 26 years of academic and clinical experience in treating diabetes and diabetic nephropathy have inspired me to tackle Type 1 Diabetes (T1DM). The closest alternatives—pancreas and islet transplantation—are costly, invasive, require lifelong immunosuppression, and suffer from donor shortages.
