Hypertension is a pandemic. Inadequate diagnosis and control increases the risk of diseases: Stroke, Retinopathy, Nephropathy, Hypertensive Encephalopathy, Myocardial Infarction, cognitive impairment and death from cardiovascular events. Approximately 30% of the world's population is hypertensive. Single-chamber blood pressure cuffs with different measurements are available on the market. An inappropriate pressure measurement leads to miscuffing; a smaller chamber can undercuff blood pressure; a larger chamber can overcuff. This has consequences in the diagnosis and wrong treatments and millions in costs for the health system. Even if you have a very accurate, modern cuff with manometer, but without the right cuff, it is very likely that the measurement will be wrong.

MARKET NEED AND VALUE PROPOSITION: PATAGONIUM is a multi-chamber cuff for manual and digital blood pressure monitors with selective connection. This means several chamber sizes in one cuff. In only 3 steps it can be adapted to people of different physical conditions, age and nutritional status.

SOME REASONS TO CHOOSE PATAGONIUM: Universalization of blood pressure measurement. It can be used with all types of new/used manometers. Allows a special hospital organization. Prevents hospitalized patients from sharing cuffs, avoiding potential intra-hospital infections. It has means of identifying the cameras placed on the cuff and means of connection that facilitates its correct use. There is no need to change the cuff to move from one chamber to another and take the pressure. An optimized attachment system. In case of damage or deterioration, the doctor or paramedic can replace the part by themselves.

PATIENT FEEDBACK. High degree of satisfaction from patients who have used Patagonium, stating: "it is more comfortable," "I feel safer."

WORLDWIDE MARKET: More than 100 million cuffs are marketed per year (including new and replacement blood pressure monitors). This represents between US $500 to $750 million per year.

Professional use and home use blood pressure monitors. PATAGONIUM has ONLY indirect competition.

PATAGONIUM is a global innovator. It solves a critical market need. Multi-awarded at National and International level. It has patents granted in USA, Spain, Brazil. The product has been certified by GEMLar (National Technological University) and has clinical validation through scientific field work. There are reports of prototypes that were used by medical professionals/nurses in health institutions with excellent performance. PATAGONIUM can be used in new or replacement blood pressure monitors. It requires a low investment. IRR: 61%. PRI: 2 and a half years. Possibility of boosting the business through an alliance with an international strategic partner. Eco-friendly generates less waste.

NEW INVENTION is in the process of national and international patenting.

PRODUCTION COST:Compared to those already on the market is approximately 2 to 1 (standard 1 bracelet and Patagonium is equivalent to 3 or 4 bracelets), more economical.

PRODUCTION:All the elements are joined by welding, thus achieving a product that is assembled in a single place and with a single technology. Experienced to carry out the project. Product generated from the needs of professionals according to field work.

I am a physician specializing in pediatrics and hypertension. Since the beginning of my training as a physician, I was confronted daily and persistently with a frustrating difficulty in medical practice, particularly in pediatrics: when it came to monitoring the health of children and physical examination of patients in general, physicians were faced with the difficulty of not having the right cuff for each patient, since at the time of care they had one or two cuffs, and perhaps a 3rd, 4th, 5th or more different cuffs were needed. Therefore, blood pressure could never be taken with the right cuff for each patient .
In addition to this, among other things that happened were:
•The tediousness of choosing the right cuff- Due to limb measurements for their corresponding selection Ex: arm circumference and arm length.
•Usually in hospital and clinic wards there was the availability of a single standard blood pressure monitor for all patients, whether thin, normal, obese and hyperobese.
•It was also often seen that, as a consequence of the above, patients were observed to have a painful face due to inadequate cuffs, poor condition or design of the cuffs, which made the procedure very painful, itself raising the blood pressure.
My objective with this development is that at professional and even domestic levels, in the same way that blood pressure is taken by a professional, people have the possibility of being able to measure their blood pressure with an accurate and quality device, as this would decrease the bad measurements and subsequent false diseases or undiagnosed diseases.
