Sustainable Technology
The over-application of chemical-based toxic pesticides and insecticides has caused great health concerns for consumers. Some sources claim around 385 million cases of UAPP (Unintentional Acute Pesticide Poisoning) occur annually worldwide including around 11,000 fatalities, which is based on a worldwide farming population of approximately 860 million.
We have proven that natural comfort control can maintain reasonable interior temperatures without the use of any mechanical climate control devices or sophisticated building technologies. Our first building, an aircraft hangar in Boulder Colorado, maintains 15°C (60°F), plus or minus 11°C (20°F) through the proper application of thermal mass, insulation and solar gain.
This project uses the AS7263 NIR (near infrared) spectrometer sensor and the Raspberry Pi 4B board to assess plant foliage health. It explains how to uses the sensor’s channel readings and the standard Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) equation to calculate an estimated NDVI value.
